Sahara Animal Care (SAC) is a charitable animal rescue organization devoted to work for the welfare of street animals in the eastern part of Nepal. SAC is based on Biratnagar, the largest city of Province 1. Sahara animal care ( SAC) has been working day and night to improve the life of street animals in every possible way. Street animals in eastern part of Nepal are most ignored and hence going through pitiful condition.
We are concerned about the skyrocketing increase in the population of street dogs that has led to maximum number of hungry community dogs fighting every day for barely available food in trash sites leading to maximum number of malnourished, diseased, infected and accidental cases lying unattended on the streets. Sahar Animal Care was established with the aim to work for the welfare of street animals.
What sac has done till date ?
SAC believes that ABC (Animal Birth Control) campaign is the only way to permanently end the sufferrings of our street friends. Our focus has been to control the population by conducting ABC campaigns regularly and till date we have spayed/ neutered 1084 community dogs in biratnagar.
How is our ABC camp different?
SAC believes that no being is superior to the other in this planet and all living beings have their own role to be played and should be treated with love and respect.
In our mass ABC campaign, we provide :
- Post of care with at least 24 hours observation.
- Nutritional food for better and quick healing .
- Locked Reflective belts so that our community dogs are safe.
We collect CTVT ( Canine transmissible veneral tumor) cases and bring in to our shelter, provide chemotherapy and then release them to their respective home street.
